"I CAN SEE YOU"
That was the first letter she received that day.
At first, she shrugged of the creepy letters, with an anonymous sender. Now they were just getting wierder and weirder.
The first one she had received came in the mail the week before, and it had said,
"HELLO, DOLL ."
The girl was almost 13, she almost never went outside, and she most certainly did not speak to anyone out of her age range.
She seemed to be cut off from the world, in her own way.
Educating herself independently, who would ever think?
With no human guardians?
That was unthinkable...
Children under the age of 13 had to have a human adult guardian, go to the 'schools', and have their minds molded to obey each and every word.
She did not like that, and she refused to ever have to step a foot into a school.
A child without a guardian was like a mouse under the shadow of a cat.
Nowhere to hide, open, alone, and vulnerable.
Except, this girl did have guardians.
One eerie dark bird, who sat on a waxed perch, usually near the library's candle.
Two exotic looking cats - one with short curled fur, like the girl's own hair, and another with almost no fur at all.
3 animal guardians.
Unthinkable.
But back to the point.
She had received letters about...every 3 days?
It wasn't very pleasant for her.
She now would dash outside, retrieve the mail, and sprint back in, in fear of being caught by this anonymous writer.
But her guardians would always soothe her.
Well, her cat guardians, anyways.
She heard something light shoot out of the mail slot, and she looked away from the book she was currently reading.
Another letter.
"I WANT TO HELP YOU. I HAVE COME THROUGH A LOT OF TROUBLE TO EVEN GET THESE LETTERS TO YOU, YOU KNOW."
Oh no.
Not another one.
2 in one day?
Well, we have a new record!
2 creepy letters in a day!
